support
lift is made by one person, so support is an email address rather than a helpdesk — but it's an email address that a human reads.
reporting a bug
if you're on the testflight beta, the fastest route is a screenshot inside testflight itself — take one, and it comes to me with your device, ios version and build number already attached. otherwise, email me and include:
- what you did, and what happened instead of what you expected
- your iphone model and ios version
- whether icloud sync is on, and whether you use lift on more than one device
that last one matters more than it looks. anything involving data appearing, disappearing or duplicating is almost always a sync question, and knowing how many devices are in play is usually the difference between fixing it and guessing.
if data looks wrong or missing
please email me before deleting and reinstalling the app. a reinstall can make the evidence harder to recover, and your local database is the copy most likely to still hold what went missing. i'd rather look at it first.
known gaps
honest list of what isn't there yet, so you don't have to email to find out:
- lb and imperial units — being wired up before launch; kg and cm only for now
- csv import from strong and hevy — being built for launch
- csv export — planned
- ipad and Apple Watch apps — not planned for the first release. lift does import workouts recorded on your watch through Apple Health
where your data lives
on your phone, and — if icloud is on — in your own private icloud database. i have no copy and no access, which is worth knowing for two reasons: your training is private by construction, and i can't restore it for you. if it matters to you, keep icloud sync on.
